Commission & Billing Coordinator

The Commission & Billing Coordinator is responsible for the compiling, computing, and recording of billing, commission, and other accounting or numerical data.

The Commission & Billing Coordinator will work closely with other members of the Accounting and Commission Team to accurately track the receipt and payment of commissions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Provide professional, unparalleled customer service to our clients, carriers, agents, and vendors.

  • Log and record commission data as received.
  • Successfully allocate commissions using agency commission system.
  • Use agency reporting systems to research commission shortfalls and recover missing revenues.
  • Interact with other members of the Bond Team, insurance carriers, and other vendor partners to assure integrity of data.
  • Provide billing services for key accounts.
  • Maintain poise under pressure; take responsibility for actions and follow through on commitments.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year College or University in a relevant field; or 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

This position requires at least one-year prior experience working with billing, payroll, and/or agency commissions.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks is required.

Experience with a Human Resource Information System, Customer Relationship Management System, and/or payroll system is preferred.

Required Skills

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as contracts and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software, Contact Management systems, Database software, Email software, and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook Calendar and Email, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word).
