The Affordable Care Act (ACA) does not require small employers to offer health insurance (small employers are those with fewer than 50 full-time equivalent employees). However, the ACA did create new options and incentives for these employers. Small employers can now purchase health insurance through the NY State of Health, Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP). Bond Financial Network is fully staffed to be able to support employers in all aspects related to the SHOP. From evaluating plan options, to enrolling employees, all the way to managing the annual policy renewal, Bond is your SHOP advocate.

The Marketplace has numerous plans available from the area’s leading insurance companies, including: Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, MVP Health Care, Univera Healthcare and Fidelis Care. Each employee can choose the insurance company and plan that is right for them. And best of all, a significant premium subsidy may be available. That means lowering your employee health insurance costs without reducing quality!

The NY State of Health is a marketplace of health insurance for individuals, families and business owners. There are two types of marketplaces in the NY State of Health; The Individual and Family Marketplace and The Small Business (SHOP) Marketplace. The Individual and Family Exchange is the marketplace that provides tax credits directly to those being insured through the NY State of Health. Here, individuals can get insurance for themselves and their families and receive a premium subsidy if they fall within a required household income amount and their employer does not offer affordable coverage.

Bond has a specialized team to deal specifically with the NY State of Health Marketplace, ensuring that our clients receive information on ALL insurance plans available to them. Bond has saved individuals thousands of dollars in premium by enrolling them in a health insurance plan through the NY State of Health.
